“Medicine is not only a science; it is also an art. It does not consist of compounding pills and plasters; it deals with the very processes of life, which must be understood before they may be guided.”— Paracelsus
Another week has been and gone, where does all my time go? The IB is back to full strength and is once again dominating my life. Although, to be fair procrastination gives the IB a run for its money! In my defence I have got a lot of work done this weekend, just not all the work I wanted to do. Still, I’ll count it as a successful weekend =D
I had my last day working at the shop yesterday. I’m both relieved and said. I am not going to miss the long, boring hours spent freezing cold. At all. I am going to miss the people I work with (and the money - I’m not going to pretend I don’t care about the money. I do, and I’m going to miss it). Yesterday involved a bit of wrestling (I won =]), some weightlifting (the boys were showing off and I was failing miserably) and I managed to kick a ball into my own face. Some parts of the day were really fun =D
I think I made the right choice in the long run, I basically now have an extra day a week not just for staying on top of my studies (I have a feeling the workload is going to start getting insane soon - there’s just 13 weeks until exams begin >.<) but also for doing fun things for myself. I can begin to have a bit of a social life and maybe even do some of the fun things I used to enjoy when I had free time, like skating and playing guitar.
Only 109 days until freedom! My plan is have a couple of weeks off doing fun things and going on holiday, then get a job and earn some more cash for university. It’s still a little odd to think that later this year I’m going to be at university. In fact, I’m going to be at medical school* learning how to be a kick-ass doctor. Now that is an awesome thing to be able to say!
