I’ve had a very lazy week. I’ve basically spent my first week of freedom/summer holiday playing xbox, watching TV (I still have over 30 recordings to watch!) and DVDs (I’m devouring Doctor Who season 2 at the moment), surfing the net and chilling with my friends in the glorious sunshine. I even went to the cinema!!! (If you haven’t seen ‘TheAvengers/Avengers Assemble yet, you must! It’s actually incredible) It’s been really nice, but I almost feel guilty! I feel like I should be doing something a little more…I don’t even know to be honest.
I think this next week I’m gonna start working through my ‘List’. I’ve spent a week enjoying the simple pleasures that I have ‘avoided’ while under the spell of the IB so these next few weeks I’d like to learn some anatomy (using my awesome collection of colouring books), visit some museums with my friends, and read some of the books on my list of books to read before I die (I’ve read a fair few, but I still have over 1000 left!). I’ve been reading George Orwell’s brilliant 1984 and have nearly finished it. If you haven’t read it, I sincerely recommend you do. Some people find it a bit hard to get into, but personally I’ve found it extremely interesting the whole way through. It’s fantastic.
It’s still feels strange to actually have free time. I get up in the morning and there’s only ever one or two minor things I have to do. I can read, watch, build with Lego or k’nex (I really want to that this week!) or I can just laze about in the sun. It rocks.
I’m also thinking about trying to get more work experience in a hospital environment, and maybe I’ll get a job to save up some money for trips and university. Who knows, I’ve got 4 months of summer holiday - I want to see how much stuff I can pack in!
Have a great week guys. To all those facing exams, best of luck and I hope that they’ll be over for you soon so that you can enjoy a well deserved holiday as well! =D
